Fluoride: Why is it in our water?
Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 04:12PM We are told that fluoride is added to our water supply to promote healthy teeth and to prevent cavities in children. But is that really true? Who performed the research studies? When were these studies conducted? And who decides that it is imperative to the health of the population that we be mass medicated without our consent?
First and foremost, what is fluoride? Fluoride is the salt from fluorine gas combined with a metal ion (aluminum). Fluorine is a halogen gas and is toxic. With this clean cut definition one can already come to the conclusion that fluoride does not appear to be a safe element to ingest. Fluoride does occur naturally in nature and there are parts of the world were fluoride levels in the water are naturally high, such as: India, China and parts of Africa. In these countries steps are taken to remove fluoride from the drinking water as they recognize the health threats it causes, namely Fluorosis, which is fluoride toxicity in teeth and bones causing weak, graying and porous teeth and bones.
